Next Generation Film Festival

The Next Generation Film Festival seeks to creatively inspire, financially assist and collectively encourage the next generation in identifying and meeting the needs of their communities.

What exactly are we doing?

We’re inviting members of Generation Z (“Zoomers”) to think of ways to serve the people around them and create a film that documents their journey. The most inspirational films will be awarded cash prizes, recognition from film directors and political leaders, school credits and ultimately, a spot in our film festival that will tour the country.

Why is it important?

The world can feel full of uncertainty, division and pain. We want to help combat the troubles of life through love in action: humility, service and sacrifice. We want to see communities transformed by the power of the arts combined with humble, loving service and watch it’s ripples grow farther than our own reach.

Because film has the power to inspire large audiences at an exponential level, and the fact that this upcoming generation has a deeper understanding for the language of video than we’ve ever seen before, we’re asking Zoomers to show us how to grow our culture into something full of selflessness and love.

We believe that acts of sacrificial kindness (no matter how small) aimed at uplifting the lives of those around us can change the culture of an entire nation. We believe that the youth can be an enormous catalyst in creating this change. We believe that the arts and film have the ability to unite people and communicate ideas in ways that other modalities can’t.

We hope to build a collection of inspiring documentaries (approximately 3-30 minutes) of Zoomers starting their own community service projects and documenting the process with video in order to grab the attention of their viewers and inspire others to follow suit in sacrifice.
