Fundación ArtLabbé uses the arts to bridge together different sectors of society that would not typically connect.
What exactly are we doing?
Like Foundation For The Arts, our sister organization in Chile creates projects and programs that invite people from all walks of life to serve their communities through the world of art. Here are some examples:
Educational Murals
With the desire to bring beauty to their urban spaces, Fundación ArtLabbé is partnering with artists, such as Soledad Bravo, to create murals of nature native to their area. They provide educational courses to local children once the mural is finished.
Community Murals
Fundación ArtLabbé helps organize community mural projects like this one that was inspired by Van Gogh’s “Starry Night.” It was a special event because it brought together 30 children and a group of employees from a large company to be the artists in order to spark inspiration and unify their community.
Artistic Playground Structures
Fundación ArtLabbé is donating artistically designed playground structures, inspired by Mesoamerican culture, to schools with the purpose of educating their students on pre-Columbian culture as well as providing a playful element to their environment.
Art Therapy
These art therapy classes are geared towards children with cognitive disabilities in order to bring an outlet of creativity into their lives. By practicing motor skills, non-verbal communication and enjoying the social interaction of their classmates, this project is bringing healing, comfort and joy to its participants.
Why is it important?
After over a decade of art gallery experience, ArtLabbé Gallery formed Fundación ArtLabbé whose aim has been to make the art world accessible to as many people as possible. Their emphasis has been on including those that have previously been excluded from the art world due to disabilities and lack of resources. Art brings joy to all those who participate.
Foundation For The Arts is an extension of this vision. We hope to see collaboration across all nations and all demographics with people being brought together to share the love of art and the joy it brings.
